Legal Problem?

Threatened with a demand letter from a landlord or other creditor?
Applying to a government agency for benefits?
Need to change government records or rehabilitate your legal history?

Whether a matter of economics or the preference to take control over your legal matter, self-representation may be your best answer.

It's called proceeding "pro se."

From fill-in-the-blank forms provided by a court or government agency, to more complex papers such as responding to a demand letter, or more formal papers such as a legal complaint, evidence requests, motion with a points-and-authorities memo to support it, or even an appeals brief, help is available.

Because much of the law is grounded in common sense ─ even though that may not always be so apparent  many individuals may be capable of handling some of their legal matters, requiring only limited legal services from a lawyer, such as help with court forms, administrative agencies, legal research and writing tasks, or with a single legal issue, such as an immigration application.

This is called "unbundled" legal services, or "limited scope" legal assistance: only the specific service need be paid for  with a specific, limited fee. That contrasts with the usual "total representation" for an hourly fee that may reach into the hundreds of dollars.

But in representing themselves, nonlawyers often hit a wall when it comes to de-tangling the confusing array of legal procedures involved in administrative and court proceedings, and conducting effective legal research to support their positions with statutory and case law.

That's where I can help: by helping you research and present your arguments supported by proper case and statutory law.

Generally, pro se litigants are permitted to use legal research services and legal ghostwriters to help them compose their complaints, motions and supporting briefs.

As a member of the State Bar of California, I'm a state licensed, proven qualified legal researcher and legal writer and legal editor.

Representing themselves in their legal matters is everyone's right, but as the saying goes: two heads are better than one, especially if the other is not emotionally compromised:
